Model, stylist, muse and DJ - Paris-born Valentine Fillol-Cordier is what the fashionista wannabes aspire to be. The London-based beauty represents a combination of effortless Parisian chic and the recent rebirth of London 'cool'. She has been photographed by some of the world's most renowned photographers and her opinion on fashion trends is sought by leading designers.

Her love affair with fashion started on the streets of Paris when at the age of 16 she was spotted by a scout looking for the new face for global clothing giant Benetton.

But it was when Valentine moved to London at the age of 17 that she began to make her mark on the industry - her eclectic outlook on the fashion world and effortless beauty made her a hit season after season. Valentine's diverse image has led to her working with some of the most talented photographers including Mark Borthwick, Terry Richardson, Craig McDean, Mary McCartney, Takis Bibelas, Ellen Von Unwerth, Juergen Teller and Magnus Unnar among others.

She has been pictured by these great names for respected publications such as Vogue, Purple, Harper's Bazaar, French Playboy, Lula, Nylon, Dazed & Confused, Mixt(e) and i-D.

During a staggering 10 seasons on the world's catwalks - including London, New York, Paris and Milan - Valentine has been chosen to wear the collections of designers including Marc Jacobs and Paul Smith.

Valentine says her own look is a "mix of sixties French student, Coco Chanel's best friend and Kurt Cobain's little sister". Her wardrobe is stuffed with delectable 1920s dresses and vintage items from thrift stores in New York, London and Paris.

And her take on fashion has proven to be such a hit for designers they have personally sought Valentine's input in their collections - including Chanel's Karl Lagerfeld and Charles Anastase, who appointed her to be his creative consultant.

In addition, the engaging star has previously been the face of campaigns for APC, Stella Artois and sports label Puma.

Part of her success is down to her belief that to be a part of such a creative arena you need to have a passion for music and art for which she is an avid collector and follower. It is her love of music that has led to bookings as guest DJ at some of London's coolest venues including Bungalow 8 and Sketch. She also sings and was a member of the band Tall Arms.

She says her inspirations are "the designers who maintain their energy season after season"… but you'll find that in fact she's their inspiration.
