Charlie Casely-Hayford was born and raised in London. After being educated at Harrow school, he studied Italian and Fine Art in Florence, before attending Central St. Martins and then reading History of Art at the Courtauld Institute.
Son of the designer Joe Casely-Hayford OBE, whose 30-year career spans designing for the Clash to creative director of Gieves & Hawkes, Charlie grew up in a design studio surrounded by clothes and sketches.
Charlie’s interest in identity and fashion began at 17, after starting out at i-D magazine; he was approached to work with a number of Japanese magazines documenting London style for them on a monthly basis.
When Charlie finished Harrow he began dressing a number of UK bands, and now works predominantly with Mercury-award winning band, The XX. After an intense apprenticeship in technical skills and menswear history at his parents’ studio; at 21, Charlie and Joe went into partnership together to set up international menswear brand Casely-Hayford.
Since its birth, Casely-Hayford has been stocked internationally at stores such as Dover Street Market, Colette, Corso Como, Barneys, I.T. Hong Kong and Isetan.
The pair now move between their studios in Tokyo and London, designing two menswear collections a year.
Since launching the brand Charlie has modelled for publications such as i-D, Another Man, Man About Town and been profiled in titles including Dazed & Confused, Arena Home Plus, Vogue, Sunday Times Style and Wallpaper magazine. 
Charlie was selected as one of the 200 portraits shot by Nick Knight for i-D’s fashion faces of the future issue and was selected by Esquire magazine as ‘a Brilliant Brit’ for his contribution as a young talent in the fashion industry.
